The Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg

I was invited to be a visiting scientist in the Department of Knowledge and Language Processing of the Faculty of Computer Science at The Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg. During my research stay I have the chance to integrate with the Computational Intelligence Group lead by Professor Rudolf Kruse. I have a remarkable opportunity to develop cooperation also with researchers from other institutions specializing in temporal data mining, knowledge-based systems and simulations. During my stay I participate in seminars, invited talks and meetings with partners from industry and researchers from other institutions. Working in a friendly international group like this encourages creativity and enables progress and clarification of the research goals for the project: ‘Application of fuzzy statistical methods in data mining’ supported by the Foundation for Polish Science under International PhD Projects in Intelligent Computing. Furthermore, I am learning about modern directions in computational intelligence and I get inspired by new perspectives on interdisciplinary research. Last but not least, from the first weeks of my stay I feel a part of the group. Professor  Kruse, Christian Moewes, Christian Braune and Pascal Held gave me a warm welcome and are always available for a good discussion and exchanging ideas.

Above you can see a photo from the presentation on advances of the project entitled ‘Application of fuzzy statistical methods in data mining’ held by me in the Department of Knowledge and Language Processing of the Faculty of Computer Science at the Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg.
